During his 46-year career in the land surveying and civil engineering professions, Mr. Irish has practiced as a Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager/Surveyor/Engineer on a broad range of projects. Prior to forming VIKA, Inc. in 1980, he was a Senior Engineer/Surveyor at Maddox & Associates, Inc.

Since forming VIKA, he has been the Principal-in-Charge for all of the firm’s Maryland projects including engineering and land surveying endeavors. Mr. Irish was originally licensed in 1978 as a Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland and subsequently in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and Florida. In addition, he was licensed in 1980 as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Maryland, and in 1985 as a (3-a) Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
