The project site for Nestle USA’s new headquarters was located in Arlington, VA between an existing Dominion Energy Virginia substation and the Rosslyn Metro Station, and development included the adaptive re-use of the operating substation and working with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to make significant improvements to the Metro Station, lobby, and infrastructure. This urban infill redevelopment project now offers employees access to the Blue, Orange, and Silver Metro lines, the Potomac River bridges, five major interstates and highways, and the Mount Vernon Trail. We also designed an innovative stormwater detention facility that is also used to cool the air conditioner units.
1812 North Moore Street is among a handful of projects in the nation that have been accepted into the LEED Neighborhood Development Program. It is the first to earn the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum Certification.
